IT’S OKAY TO HAVE THE BLAHS!

This morning I grabbed my Bible, a cup of coffee and sat down for a moment. Much has been occupying my mind the past seven years, and the dialogue in my heart goes like this…

“Gina, what are you so worried about. You wouldn’t do what you do unless you knew that God was the one who instructed your heart to do it in the first place!”

“Gina, you would not have taken your savings, or the past seven years of your life, for something if your heart didn’t know that it was something that God put on your heart in the first place!”

“Gina, you would not have…blah, blah, blah, blah… BLAH!”

Each morning I always give myself my 5 minutes of  what I call, “BLAHING” and then I get right to work.

Until this morning.

My “BLAHS” now mean something very different!

Opening my Bible I happened to open it to Deuteronomy 8. It was the most amazing thing because while I was flinging my Bible open I said, “God, why? Why is everything always so hard?”

Then I read this:

“Be  careful to obey all the commands I am giving you today. Then you will live and multiply, and you will enter and occupy the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors. Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness for forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether you really would obey his commands. Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people need more than bread for their life; real life comes by feeding on every word of the LORD. For all these forty years your clothes didn’t wear out, and your feet didn’t blister or swell. So you should realized that just as a parent disciplines a child, the LORD your God disciplines you to help you. Deuteronomy 8: 1-5

NOW, THIS IS MY FAVORITE PART…

So, obey the commands of the LORD your God by walking in his ways and fearing him. For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with springs that gush forth in the valleys and hills. It is a land of wheat and barley, of grapevines, fig trees, pomegranates, olives, and honey. It is a land where food is plentiful and nothing is lacking. It is a land where iron is as common as stone, and copper is abundant in the hills. “When you have eaten your fill, praise the LORD your God for the good he has give you. Deuteronomy 8:6-10

And, the most important part of this scripture arrives within  Deuteronomy 8:11-20!  I highly recommend that you read it.  It states here that GOD tests us for our own good so when the desires of our heart do come to pass…WE will never think it came from our own strength and energy, but from GOD.

My heart also just shared with me that it’s okay to have the BLAHS, because my heart just heard that BLAHS  are nothing more than…

BLESSING

LORD

ALL

HEART

ONWARD TO  BLESSING the LORD with ALL my HEART!
